Gits SAC: New Series Approaches!
For anyone who hasn’t heard yet, the Production I.G website has been updated with news regarding the previously announced new GitS project!
It tells us the following about the series:
a) As predicted, it is another Stand Alone Complex Series
b) The series name is: Solid State Society
c) The Tachikomas are depicted on the announcement image, which means it’s not likely to be a continuation from 2nd GIG.
d) The first trailor will be screened between 23-26th of March at the TAF event.
*cracks open a bottle of insane celebration*
Yeah tachikomas!! This is good news cos they are one of my favourite mecha.
Let’s just hope it isn’t a publicity gimmick.
I’m not sure about tachikomas/sequel. The tachis are just always on PIGs site, lol.
What worries me a bit… is the logo, because nobody said it would be a TV series, and it looks identical to the laughing man and individual eleven ovas logo/title screens.
BAH here we are. the japanese Bandai site has the info: It’s not a series. It’s a 100 minute movie.

about the movie length, personally im not too disappointed, it will be a brand new story packed into those 100 minutes, not a rehash of old stuff. it would be kinda cool if they could come up with them once in a while (annualy ;x).
The reason I loved Gits SAC so much, was because I found it to be a very different, and a better, experience than the movies. And this was largely due to the extra time the series had to develope its plot and characters. I don’t expect 100 minutes will be near enough time to deliver a story as good as either of the series.

How come the picture looks almost exactly like a scan from EPISODE 4: NATURAL ENEMY of 2nd GIG?
It must be some publicity act. I’m sure Solid State Society WILL be a continuation of 2nd GIG.
