Spoilers! :I’ve spent the last hour immobilised in a state of unrelenting fangasm. Why? Because something absolutely wonderful has come out of the latest chapter of Negima! The chapter isn’t scanlated or, so far as I can tell, properly scanned yet, but the will of the yuri fanboy is strong, and I managed to sniff out this juicey development that has sent waves through the Negima fanbase: Setsuna and Konoka finally make a pactio! That might not sound exciting if you don’t read Negima, but those who do will know instantly the epic win that that implies: A kiss! Between girls! It’s a full blown yuri kiss! And if that doesn’t excite you, you’re either not a yuri fan or you need a lecture on just how extraordinarily difficult it seems to be for anime and manga to pull off a yuri kiss that isn’t a stupid gag or some kind of highly improbably accident. But this is a real development between the two cutest Negima characters, Konoka and Setsuna, whose relationship has walked the line between friendship and intimacy for too long! Among many other things, Ken Akamatsu seems to possess incredibly good timing. Just the other day I was wondering if he was ever going to revisit the Kon X Setsu pactio subplot that came up a few times in earlier volumes. Unfortunately Asuna interrupted their last attempt (to Setsuna’s extreme embarrassment and probably disappointment). But now it suddenly comes back and is followed through all the way!

Yuri love between two adorable cat-girls is the epitome of win in my book. This concentrated Konoka/Setsuna stuff is long overdue, but it’s been worth the wait. We get them together on an (unofficial) date, Konoka kisses Setsuna on the cheek, and then there’s the climactic kiss between them to make the pactio card. I don’t think anyone can deny the attraction between them now! Their kiss was very long XD. It was probably the longest pactio kiss we’ve seen (although it’s hard to quantify how long the pactio kiss between Asuna and Negi back in volume 3 was, beyond knowing that she french-kissed him). Anyway, a stunning development! I hope other Kon X Setsu fans enjoyed it as much as me, and I’m looking forward to high-quality scans and a scanlation. Apparently there is a kiss in Negima Neo chapter 29 as well, so maybe I should start reading that too..

If Konoka wasn’t so damn playful when it comes to the topic of love we could get a better of idea of where these two stand. But for now, gambatte Setsuna! Give in to yourself!
